Name: Seijin
Nickname: Shade
Age: 174 (7 years upon death)
Gender: Male
Squad: 9
Rank: 3rd seat
Weapon(s): A random assortment of thrown weapons (kunai, shuriken, spiked balls, etc.) stuffed into a pouch at his hip
Personality: Curious and occasionally a little hyper would be a rather simple way to put Seijin's oftentimes not so complex personality. Attention-deficit, in a sense, as well; if something can't hold his attention, or if something more interesting comes along, his attention will inevitably flit away. Otherwise, he's plenty pleasant, if a little chatty and, therein, potentially annoying, only too eager to do anything that might be required of him. A certain naivete lays within that apparent obedience, but with how often he simply speeds off, nothing seems of particular concern to him.
Physical Appearance:
- Semi-Rough Pic:
A layer of reddish-brown fur, lightly pointed ears around the top of his head, and a face somewhere between a squirrel's and a human's... would be the first things about Seijin that people
don't see. Rather, it would be the black, somewhat loose-fitting garb, the reddish-brown 'sash' wrapped about his waist, and the black half face mask and hood that otherwise hide his face. Otherwise, he has a lithe form and stands at a relatively impressive 6'1" (adding a few inches if one counts his ears), and curious, light brown eyes beneath what one can barely tell as light red hair.
Bio: For his time alive... there really wouldn't be much to say. He scurried about trees and occasionally rooftops, pointedly stayed out of reach of the people around, gathered and stockpiled food where he could find it, and maintained a good place to hibernate for the cold season. What more would there
really be to say about a simple fox squirrel? It wasn't as though he himself could have anything akin to complex thoughts at that time, driven by naught but mere instinct.
Not that a hollow passing by and managing to catch the creature seemingly cared that it would be a mere morsel, a tiny snack even
with a semi-active spiritual awareness natural to animals.
At least, that was supposedly the plan at first, and the hollow got so far as to tear the poor creature's soul out of its body before seeming to mostly give up on the thing. Not without yanking out the chain that the spikes dotting the hollow's body kept getting caught on, however, leaving behind one of the smallest hollows one would be likely to see. The squirrel didn't even
look different, save the absence of fur, the somewhat malformed mask, and the pure white coloration. Naturally, at this point, it had to be hunted down... but realistically, it really couldn't
do much besides be a general nuisance. It couldn't truly threaten anyone, its bites had no special properties to them... it was just
weak.
So, suffice it to say, it wasn't difficult to dispose of it once the Shinigami finally managed to
catch the elusive thing. Thus, with no evil deeds to its name, there it went to pass on to Soul Society, however out of place it might have been there. Years passed, 20 in specific, with the creature living out his life precisely as he had before, regardless of the change in conditions or the change in
him that went largely unnoticed by himself for a while. He grew steadily larger over that time, he began to gain the first vestiges of complex thought, and... well, most of all, he was making people clearly
uncomfortable before he was finally caught and forced to wear those things the people wore, apparently generally called 'clothes.'
Such was only the first of his many 'lessons' with many more to come before he was interacting with those around as naturally as any other human, by which point he'd spent no less than half a century in Soul Society. Given a certain natural sensitivity to spiritual energy as an animal, and the large portions to be found in such a place, it was only natural that his power steadily grew as well, while he yet knew nothing about it. So it was that he was, in time, invited into Shin'o Academy, on the basis that he 'do something about his appearance.' As all he
could do was shroud it in black, hooded and somewhat loose-fitting garb, so he did, and for the most part, none became any the wiser. With this, he made it through after a few years without incident, earning a place in Squad 9 thanks to some of his... unique talents. That was to say, his ability to run and climb around place to place without any real issue, making him a perfect errand boy, of sorts. 'Twas there that he rose steadily through the ranks, all the while making certain to hide his appearance, lest any around become uncomfortable about it.
Even if it
did bug him to have to constantly pretend his tail was a fuzzy sash and hope people believed him.
Inner world appearance: Seijin's inner world would be a lush, peaceful greenland... if it weren't for the erratic storms constantly rolling in in differing degrees of intensity and form. Inevitably, he will be promptly soaked when he goes there (not that it even translates to the actual world outside), and it's not a place he prefers to spend much time in. Nonetheless, he at least has a particularly large birch tree in the center of it all to take shelter under when need be.
ZanpakutōName: Awabomu (Bubble Bomb)
Zanpakutō spirit: Awabomu in spirit form takes the shape of an odd, apparently electrically-charged sylph, only a single foot in total height. A simple white robe and a crown of electric blue hair are the creature's only defining features, besides a harsh personality that doesn't seem to care for mistakes. Most of the time, however, it remains silent, simply observing whatever is happening.
Sealed form: In its sealed form, Awabomu is a two foot long katana strapped along the back of Seijin's waist, bearing a slightly dulled silver sheen and a dark blue wrapping around the hilt and part of the guard.
Shikai Call out phrase: 'Cry, Awabomu!'
Shikai description: Awabomu in its released form is a jutte; that is, a metal rod of 2' in length attached to an easy-to-handle hilt. It has a blunt tip, though the lightly curved hook jutting up from the base of it has a sharp point. The whole thing is colored a light blue, save the darker blue wrappings around the hilt.
Ability: Awabomu has the ability to produce from itself translucent blue, circular bubbles of varying sizes, each more solid and stable than ordinary water bubbles would be. Rather than pop on contact or follow the ordinary rules of gravity, the bubbles drift along slowly in whatever direction they are initially sent in, or otherwise whatever direction bouncing lightly off something sends them. They are somewhat difficult to pop, and generally only do so by being pierced with one of his thrown weapons imbued with a small amount of energy, but when they do, they let loose a forceful explosion of the air trapped elusively within them, of a strength dependent on the bubble in question's size.
Techniques:
Speed Up!- Seijin can, and has often been known to, use his bubbles as quick platformers, detonating them to grant him sudden bursts of speed beyond a normal shunpo at some cost of directional control during such a time.
BankaiBankai name: Awabomu Arashi (Bubble Bomb Tempest)
Bankai description: In its fullest form, Seijin's zanpakuto multiplies into two juttes of matching length, approximately 3 inches longer than in shikai. While the one he holds in his left retains its light blue color, the one he holds in his right is a light, purplish color, with a darker red wrapping around the hilt.
Ability: Like in shikai, Seijin's zanpakuto produces somewhat slow-moving and sturdy bubbles of varying sizes. While those produced from the jutte in his left hand have the same properties as in shikai, the ones produced from the jutte in his right hand take on a more purplish tinge, and either force their way through something or stop when they touch something; in short, they do not change direction, unlike the blue. Worse still, they explode in a flash of searing lightning, making them dangerous to get too near.
Techniques:
Same as in shikai, with addition(s):
Bomb Parade- Placing bubbles at certain points, Seijin makes to detonate one such that multiple more detonate in turn, covering a somewhat wide area in their explosions.
