Bio: Icarus was born into a middle class family. He knew the plights of both the rich, and the poor. There where times when his family would feast, living in luxury and having all the best meals and entertainment. Other times, he would go without food for days. It was all in the water, his father said. he grew up the son of a fisherman. But, his father was not just any fisherman, he was the lead of a whole expedition of fisherman. There where times when his father would leave for weeks on end, coming back with the most exotic, and best tasting fish anyone in the village has had. Other times, his father would be out for a day, and return with nothing more than a loaf of bread. Icarus started to notice the ebbs and flows of his life style, being poor one moment, then filthy rich the next. It was in him from the start, to be patient. If you were patient, the bad times became beyond good, and the bad times still had something worth while in them. he was always level headed, even as a child and through his teen years. He was a saint among the village, sharing when his family hit a spot of wealth, and helping when they where not. He was always helping, it felt to be the best thing to do. Even if it was just consoling and talking with the people that needed it. All was good, until a Togabito attacked the village. All Icarus could do was watch from where he was safe as others died. He knew he could not help them. However, his father had a different plan. He saw the Togabito kill his father, and sometihng in him snapped. A huge burst of rage filled inside of him, just as a troop of Quincys came to stop the Togabito. he shoved himself out of his hiding spot, running towards the Togabito as a volley of arrows went just over his head. He stopped, to turn around to look at the people trying to vanquish the beast. The Togabito fought back, but was no match for the five Quincys. They simply out numbered the beast, and it was returned to Hell. However, Icarus was the only one in his village left a live. An older Quincy examined him, and released that Icarus has the powers of a Quincy inside of him. This was when he was 16. After training with the Quincys for 6 years, reaching the level of master faster than anyone else his age, he still remembered that night. It was then when he heard of the Vatican, leaving his Quincy brothers and sisters to go gain retribution, to simply wait for the moment to strike. That is how he became the Virtue of Patience, living by the saying "one shot, one kill" Spirit Weapon: A long bow made out of pure Reishi. The grip is a sapphire color, while the rest of the bow is an icy color. The string is cool to the touch, and the Reishi in the bow seems to flow like water, giving it an appearance of constant movement. Quincy cross description: Icarus' cross seems to be transparent, with a hue of blue. It is a circle with a 1 1/2" radius. On the inside is a small orb, 1/2" in radius, that is as blue as the ocean. Four prongs hold the orb in place. Quincy items: Gintox5 Beruhigende Wellen: Two Ginto are tossed out in front of Icarus, creating a square roughly 10 feet wide. This square acts as a dampening field, lowering the output of energy attacks that pass through it. Triangle Weckdienst: Three Ginto are tossed onto the ground in a triangle pattern. Once all three land and form the pattern, a large surge of Reishi comes from the ground. The damage is very concentrated, making a small explosion within the boundaries. ]Quincy Vollstandig: Asmodel The new transformation of the Quincy, an evolved form of Letzt Stil that increases the Qunicy's powers similar to that of a Bankai. In this state, Icarus gains Two wings made of Reitsu on his back, along with two wings that come out of both of his writs on the outside, running the length of his forearm. His eyesight also becomes perfect, allowing him to see through dust/smoke, and up to 1km away. 1. Infrigidando Typhoon: Five arrows are shot in a horizontal pattern, each one imbued with holy water. There is a thin net between all five of the arrows, doing a lesser version of the arrows work. They quench fires, and cause searing pain to anything deemed unholy by the Vatican. 2. Glacialem Torrens: A single arrow is shot at the ground, creating a torrent of frozen Reishi. Once hit by something, the torrent will shatter, releasing the blessed water inside to flood out in all directions. The water has the same attributes as before, quenching fires and burning unholy beings. 3. Mitigandae Amplectere: Two arrows are shot at the target. If hit by one, or if their body is between the two, the effect activates. A rush of water will come out from the point of impact, or the exact mid point between the two arrows. This water will try to encase the target, putting massive amounts of pressure on any place the water touches. If fully encased, the water will freeze over. There is only enough water to overlap the targets body two times (the water acts as normal, it can be vaporized, along with some of it being able hit off) 4. Mulcentem Pluvia: A volley of arrows is shot directly upwards. After a turn, the arrows will fall. All of the arrows fall at once, and once reaching 30 meters above Icarus, they will turn into water. Large qualities of water will fall in a 40 foot diameter. Once the water hits the ground, it will flow back towards Icarus, until released as a tsunami in the direction of his choice, going about 20 meters in that direction. This ability will exhaust him, and is only to be used at dire times. Role-play sample: - Spoiler:
It was a warm summer day. Children were out playing, wives washing clothes and taking care of the house, and the men working. Everyone was outside doing something. It was chaotic this time of year, with everyone in high spirits do to the current wealth of the village. This year the fish were plenty, if not near a record for their 200 year history as a village. This caused the economy within the village to sky rocket, the builders and workers getting bonuses and more work. The wives were happy for their spouses, their whole mode in an upswing because of the influx of trade. The children knew nothing of this, and merely laughed and giggled and enjoyed the electric atmosphere. It was in this village that Icarus lived his entire life in.
Icarus awoke just like any other day, the sun seeping into his room. It was a mutual wake up, with him feeling normal. He wasn't tired, and he wasn't well rested. He was simply in the middle, ready to experience this day. He yawned from habit, looking out of the window while sitting up in his bed. He could taste the sea on his lips. "Dad's coming home today." He said to himself. He had this innate feeling when his dad would be home from a fishing trip. It came from years of living and waiting for the man to come home. He just knew today was going to be a good day.
Icarus was in no rush, simply going by his morning like he normally. He found what little food they had left, two slices of bread, and enjoyed them slowly, is if each bite where sacred. For all he knew, this could be the last of his food for the next few days. Once he was finished with that, he started to prepare the house for his father. He cleaned, and picked up the place to make it acceptable for his father. Whenever his dad came home, he was often too tired to even notice, but if the house wasn't clean in the morning, he would kick Icarus out for three days and nights.
He cleaned for hours on end, making sure everything was in the exact spot that it should be in. Once finished, Icarus stood up straight and did a double take of the house, just to make certain it was as perfect as it could get. That is, until he heard the nearby neighbor children playing a game outside. A game he absolutely adored. This game, of course, was hide in seek. Something he excelled at. Something where his patience came into full swing. Something where, he could find the best hiding spot and be practically invisible to everyone. Or, where he could just wait for someone to make a mistake, and quickly tag them and move on to the next game. This game, was his favorite.
Of course, as soon as he realized this, he dashed out side to join in the next round. He waited for a good ten minutes before the current round was finally over before he went up to the now-assembling group. "Can I join?" He asked, smiling while looking at the kids that were all a few inches shorter than he was. The kids looked towards each other. Three of the kids shook their heads, but the other four nodded. They discussed it for a minute, until the three negatives sighed and finally conceded. "On one condition, you have to be it" the kids responded. "sure" Icarus said, smiling. He didn't mind being it. It was just a stage to show off his abilities, a waiting game.
"ninety-eight, ninety-nine, one hundred" Icarus counted, before he finally opened his eyes and looked around. He noticed a few broken sticks, or some rustled leaves and bushes. He stood there for a moment, listening to the wind as the sound from other houses and families came through his ears. He toned this out, focusing on his immediate surroundings before he heard a slight snap from a nearby bush. He ran towards it, to pull out a girl, smiling. She stomped her feet before going to sit by what was determined base. At this moment, a leaf fell onto his head, resting there softly. He looked up, to see a group of two perched half way up the tree. "caught you" he said to them, sending the signal to come down the tree. The two both sighed, before climbing down the tree and going back to base.
There were only four left. Icarus stopped again, looking around. He ravaged the immediate area, looking for any signs of the four that were left. There was a slight trail of hardened mud heading to the north, and a few grains of sand heading to the west. He figured he would start with the west, heading down towards the beach in search of one of the remaining four. Once he got to the beach, the sun's warming rays hit him just right. He felt his entire body warm up, the sun beating down on him. He took off his shirt, enjoying the fresh air and finally seeing how nice the day really is. He stretched slightly, before looking across the beach. There were a few families at the beach, mostly people unemployed, elderly, or ones that did very little this time of the year. Otherwise, it was mostly kids enjoying the beautiful day and weather. It was going to be a pain to find this one, but he didn't mind. The weather was worth the hassle, and he knew it wouldn't take him an extreme amount of time.
His first hint at the location came shortly after he walked towards the water. There was the sound of rustling sand, as if someone had buried most of their body to hide. He started to track down the noise coming from his left, to the south. He turned, looking for anything that looks out of place or odd. Or a rock, where someone could be hiding behind. He looked for ten minutes before it struck him. There was a small alcove of rocks. He walked over to it leisurely, standing on top of it and looking beneath it. There he was, a boy who had buried his lower body in the sand. He helped the boy out, before setting his next target. He had to go north this time, towards the edge of the village where the fields were. Though the crop wasn't very big, it still provided decent coverage from anyone just passing by. This was his next destination.
He finally arrived at the field, looking over it. He noticed a few of the stalks being bent, and a few leaves being snapped in the first few rows. He sighed softly to himself, knowing the village would not be very pleased of this. He looked towards the sun, it now halfway down in the west. It would be getting dark soon. He had to finish this soon, or else he would miss his father when he came home. He hated to leave things unfinished, especially if it meant abandoning the kids that let him play. He walked through a dozen rows of crops before he got frustrated. But, he simply stopped and breathed for a moment, before continuing forward. That is, until he noticed the soft noise of footsteps behind him. He turned, nearly silently, before dashing straight in front of him. He collided with one kid, who was holding the other's hand so they would not lose each other. all of them were launched back, everyone landing on their backs. Icarus was the first to rise, rubbing the back of his head as he offered out his hand to the other two. It was one of the boys, and the only girl that didn't want him to play in the first place. The boy swatted away Icarus' hand before crying out "I knew we shouldn't have let you join!" before he ran off. The kid stopped a few meters away, looking back towards him. "And don't even bother to find the last one, he is just hiding in his house to waste your time. I hope your dad gets home and you get kicked out again. You're nothing but a burden!" The kid then turned back around with the girl, and began running back towards the village.
The words cut deep into Icarus. He knew that a few of the kids didn't like him, but he never understood why. He always did as he was told, and never went out of his way to hurt anybody or cause trouble. He was always there to help people if they needed it, or there for people to simply talk to. He sighed, before he started to walk home slowly. The sun had touched the ground now. It was starting to set. His dad would have been home by now. He missed his father by playing with people that didn't even want to play with him. His eyes started to tear up, as he wiped them away with his dirt encrusted right arm. He ran towards home.
There was a scream in the air. Icarus immediately stopped, looking forward towards the village. A few of the houses were on fire. There was a scent of blood in the air. There was the scent of burning bodies and wood. It was something he had never smelled before. His legs started to quake as he tried to walk towards the burning flames. He knew something was going on, he wanted to help. He wanted to stop whatever was happening. He made it to the main area, the place where everything was happening. He looked around to see dead bodies of his neighbors, his friends, people he knew his entire life. He couldn't help it, the bit of bread he had come up from his stomach to spill out on the floor. He stood, his entire body shacking and trembling as he looked at the unruly sight. It was at this time that he saw the man that caused it all. A person clad in a dark robe, with a mask. He could have been anybody, his body completely average. There were no characteristics besides this mask, everything else was hidden. Besides his hands that summoned the flames, and a blade that slit the throat of countless people.
His form dropped, his legs no longer being able to hold him. He stared at the sky, until he heard his father's voice. He immediately stood to attention. He tried to look for his father from his spot, behind a few boards that fell over from a nearby house. He finally saw him, him and his crew of twenty fisherman. Each one armed with a harpoon. He watched as each one around his father burst into flames, their blood curdling screams filling the night air. Then, he saw it. He saw his father being approached by this thing, this beast, this monstrosity. A moment later, his father was dead, decapitated. He watched the lifeless body hit the ground, then to the head rolling down towards the dock. This, this was his breaking point.
He could no longer see, his eyes were filled with tears and emotion. This sudden surge of emotions he rarely feels, but at a much more intense state. He couldn't even feel his body, all he could feel was this rage and anger inside of him that wanted vengeance. This thing that wanted to spill the blood of the one that killed his father. He let out a scream, alerting the monstrosity to him. However, God was with him this time. Quincy came at this moment, when the sun was fully set and a moon started to glimmer. It was over in a few moments, as a folly of arrows hit the..thing. Then, a large gate appeared, with a large dagger coming out to smite the beast, causing it to burst and vanish. Icarus started to pass out, but not before the Quincy noticed him, and he overheard a few words. "everyone else in the village is dead...what should we do with this kid? Kill him so he can move on?" "No, he has some sleeping Quincy powers with us..it would be a shame to kill him when our breed is dying. Take him with us, he has nothing left here but memories and sorrow. Let us at least give him the tools for him to take revenge. "very well, sir." That was the last thing Icarus heard, as his body was lifted and hung over some guys shoulder, being carried off to an unknown place.
