An Enthusiastic Walk Through the Woods [VlastaxEva]

It was peaceful, birds calling out to each other for the last time as the sun was going down. Smaller animals were crawling into their burrows to rest for the night. The light of the sunset left a beautiful color in the sky in a clearing between tall trees. The wind swayed gently, making the leaves dance and wave in the tree tops, reflected in the trickling stream that near silently flowed around the clearing's edge. It seemed like the perfect scene for a tranquil painting. It was as if nothing could corrupt the beauty of the small part of the forest at that moment. And just to further prove that point a deer darted from the tree line, bounding gracefully. However something was off. It was clear the deer was spooked. What could possibly disrupt the peace here though? Such would be answered as the deer soon found its head flying through the air as its body fell limp, sliding across the rest of the clearing, smearing blood across the grass.

Seeming to appear from nowhere, a woman stood where the body had first fallen, standing completely still as she watched it all but gracefully slam into the ground with a few bounces until the momentum finally gave out. A thud seemed to catch her attention and when she turned her head the other way she saw the head lying at her feet, a glassy lack eye staring up at her. A shiver ran up her spine, but not because she was horrified by the sight, but rather because it just wasn't enough. She clenched her fists, biting the inside of her cheek. She turned on her heels quickly, thrashing her right arm out to her side which cause fresh blood to be whipped from the surface of the large blade attached there, likely the same blade that had made the deer meet its fate.

"I hate this place..." Vlasta growled, being sure to step on the poor creature's throat as she took a step back to try and admire the remains of the body, allowing a her row to raised in a pleased way as her spiked heel pierced through flesh and muscle and she heard the gushing sound of blood being squeezed out. "And that man...he knew damn well I'd get this way...Hate him...so much" She lifted her foot with a sickening tearing sound and walked forward, her hands still trembling. Her pace started off with slow, long strides fit for a put together queen, but as that vein in her neck throbbed her steps quickened until she reached the rest of the corpse. there she wasted no time to reach down and dig the claw-like lades covering her fingers into the skin at the base of the deer's...well where's its neck should have been had she not severed it in such a place. She hoisted it up but didn't keep hold of it long, turning and throwing it over her shoulder and back to the ground with enough force for the loud cracking of bones to echo through the clearing and for a leg to rebound back from the ground and fly somewhere to which Vlasta couldn't say she really cared about.

Oddly enough she let out a small relieved sigh at that sound. It was shaky as her body still trembled slight from pent up anger, but she could still tell mangling the carcass was doing her some good. She couldn't tear apart any people and she certainly could sink her blades, every last one of them, into Kisuke no matter how ad she wanted to, no matter how he deserved it for teasing her and not revering her. Sadly she needed the man and killing of humans would only get her a bad reputation and complicate things. So here she was out in the middle of the woods with her hand digging into the flash of some animal. What had she been lowered to?

"This is ridiculous" with more strength than was necessary she through the body back into the cover of the forest, hearing it break a few limbs until it finally crashed against a tree trunk in only god knows what shape. Vlasta raised her hand, her eye twitching at the blood running across her meta covered arm. "How sickening.." she uttered, lowering her hand once again. She didn't need the blood of animals on her hands. That was for people far below her status. She let out a strong of curses, grinding her foot against the ground but then strangely enough she just stopped, taking in a deep breath through he nose and letting it out slowly. The amazon woman looked around, blue eyes narrowing. Nearby there was something familiar, a presence she knew well. What they were doing in the same town was beyond her. Earlier they hadn't been here. If they had been there was no way she wouldn't have ran into them with the way she had been blindly stalking the streets with no luck whatsoever...which at the memory made her brow twitch again. She still didn't count herself lucky, wishing she had run across some other connection. Some one not so irritating. Some one not so laid back. Some one not so damn slow! "He had better hurry...that man. I swear..." She balled her hands up into fists, leaning back against the tall trunk of a tree which fell victim to the wrath on her claws as she dug them into its surface. However her face remained calm, looking out forward as if waiting and keeping her aura as a ruler.

Eva skittered through the forest, humming softly. If her reiatsu didn't give away her position or identity to Vlasta, her soft humming would. Despite Vlasta rather heated walk, Eva was incredibly happy at this point. She had finally made a friend not weirded out to the point of revulsion by her insects or her other form. She loved the time she had spent with Gray, and only Vlasta could pull her away from seeing him once more. He said he was going to Kagamino, and Eva would definitely try her best to find out exactly where Kagamino was. Maybe she'd surprise him, but then again, her surprises ended up scaring the living daylights out of people more often than give them a friendly surprise. She would have to work on what exactly she would do if she ever did see him again. For now, there was a certain someone in the woods that needed her assistance.

Feeling around with her antennae, she located Vlasta and giggled. "Vlasta... Here...?" Halfway wondering why she was here in the first place, she merely let that thought slide, only too happy to see her Mistress again. She skittered through the undergrowth until she came into view of Wrath, smiling softly. "Vlasta... Okay...?" She got up to an upright position and began walking slowly to Vlasta, wanting to help her feel a little better. However, the Togabito girl was not stupid. She knew that if approached quickly in this type of mood would end in pain for her. If Vlasta wanted to hurt Eva, that was one thing. If it wasn't on the Sin's to-do list, however, Eva would like to avoid it as much as possible. When she got close to Vlasta, she stopped, humming and tilting her head. She had a worried look on her face, but nothing more than that. She didn't want her thinking she cared too much. Dealing with people like Vlasta in her current mood was a science, one that Eva, thankfully, was rather good at in theory.

Vlasta let her eyes fall on her pet the moment she stepped forward from the treeline. She didn't crack even the slightest smile, mostly because that action was far too painful to even attempt, but she managed the slightest softening of her features that had been twisted in anger. Eva was after all one of the pets she had formed some degree of trust for. She doubted the girl was among the traitorous of her pets and from what she could tell of the girl it was staying that way for a long time. So the least she could do was give some sort of sign that she was safer than the deer that had fallen prey to the sin just moments before. She saw the worry written across the girl's face and knew that her question before was certainly directed toward the horrendous state Vlasta must have seemed to be in. The blonde almost let out a chuckle when she tried to imagine how she must look trembling against a tree. Almost.

"Don't fret Eva" she said as calmly as she could manage, which was actually quite successful much to her own surprise. "Humans are just.....annoying, useless things." she offered as an answer, trying not to rant too much, but then of course what else was she to do? "I mean really they can't have the manners to not whisper so annoyingly or stare. And when they aren't whispering they are talking much to loud. Those customers at the man's shop...that man..." Her face darkened all the more at the mention of him. "Shinigamis are truly the worst, slowest, most annoying bunch of all.." there was venom in her voice and though she was glaring her eyes were not directed at Eva, instead looking into the last shreds of sunlight that were peeking over the trees ahead of her. "Curse my luck.." she growled and bringing her hand up just slightly she soon found herself whipping it back to maker impact with the tree, wood chips shattering from its surface before it toppled over. Vlasta looked behind her at the fallen tree, a grimace on her face. She really had meant to calm down a little bit. So much for that plan.

"Tell me Eva..." She looked back to the girl, her face still showing disgust and could easily be taken as a threatening one when added to the slow tone of Vlasta's words. "What is it you've been up to here?" she didn't imagine Eva had gotten into much, knowing she was of few words and could be rather...well creepy to a human. Not much was creepy after being in hell of course. The queen lowered her hand slightly, whipping it again at what remained of the tree stump to cut out a smooth edge with the blade at her arm. Gracefully she sat down like she normally would in her thrown, smoothing out her skirt and crossing her legs. It was clear she was strugling, her crossed arms unresting and constantly switching positions, Her neck was pulsing as her back quivering. She was taking deep breaths, tiny black flames forming in her throat and some releasing out her mouth when she breathed out. None the less she attempted to not do anything rash, deciding a distraction was in order and that is where Eva came in. It had been quite the perfect timing really.

Eva looked to Vlasta as she sat, quickly skittering over to her Mistress and using each of her four hands upon Vlasta's body, smoothing out clothing for her and rubbing softly, along the lines of a massage. Her genuine worry was going to get her killed one day. However, once Vlasta sat down, she felt immediate danger had been avoided and it was safe to tend to her currently stressed Mistress. What way was better than an almost expert massage? Two of her hands would run along the Sin's back as her other two would tend to Vlasta's sides, rather quickly as if she had practiced.

However, the little bug girl hesitated for a split second as Vlasta spoke, asking her what she did. What this would do is tell Vlasta that she was scared of telling her, for whatever reason. She mentally went over whether or not to tell her, then decided that, no matter if it would get her in trouble or not, she could not lie to her Mistress. "Eva... Meet Fullbringer... Study him... Then played... Together... He was... Nice..." She pursed her lips as she continued massaging the Queen. She really was a faithful pet, never lying or trying to usurp Vlasta. That, coupled with the fact that she would follow orders unthinkingly made her very good at what she did. Her chitin-covered fingers did wonders as working out any knots within the woman's muscles as her antennae gently tickled at Vlasta's ears, a small affectionate motion on Eva's part.

Then a thought crossed the bug girl's mind. What if Vlasta didn't like that Eva had a nice time while Vlasta did not? She didn't even think of that! Well... She would just have to take her punishment, then. She wouldn't resist if Vlasta wanted to hurt her, but that didn't mean she didn't fear it. what she feared the most, however, was suddenly being ordered to kill him. Eva didn't know if she could. She had so much fun with someone open-minded, and she didn't want that to suddenly end. She she patiently continued to massage Vlasta's back and sides, fearful of what she might say.

Vlasta arched a brow as Eva moved to her so quickly, wondering what her intentions were and then she felt four hands upon her and in an instant she tensed, unsure of what was going on. Then she found that their motions became soothing and it dawned on her what was going on. She really did need to learn to trust a bit better, which would likely work as well as anger management but that didn't mean she couldn't have the thought. The sin allowed herself to relax, her shoulders lowering slightly and her muscles untensing though she still kept her back arched as to not lose her aura of a queen. Looking back over her shoulder the blonde eyes the pet's face, noticing worry there still but with something new as well. Hesitation? What the hell could she have been doing that was so horrid she was doubting whether or not to say anything though she inevitably would.It was Eva after all, and just as she suspected the girl spoke up a moment later, explaining her day to her, which in all honestly had Vlasta's brow twitching. Eva had quite the lovely day, making a new friend, a nice one, one who didn't annoy her to the core, one who didn't have that god awful smirk and that stupid fan and that ugly excuse of a hat. Oh Eva had the most fabulous of days.

"How wonderful, Eva..." the words would usually be a good sign but her tone, that tone soaked in sarcasm and disgust obviously changed their meaning. She turned her head further back, her blue eyes shining with rage behind her long black lashes that gave her glare a feline like look, like a lion ready to shred apart prey. Her hand whipped out quickly as she fully turned her body, grabbing the girl's chin and likely cutting in a few places with the blades covering the back side of he fingers. She squeezed tighter than was necessary, likely hurting her even more. Vlasta leaned down, looking into her pet's eyes with shear disdain. In such a position it wouldn't be hard to main the girl. Eva would probably stand still and let her too. But for one reason or another all she did was glare before tossing the girl aside with a snarl and turning back around, again smoothing out her skirt. "You better make sure he really is your friend. Getting another ally can't hurt after all. I probably hate fullbringers even more than shinigamis though...humans with powers...a joke." she hated the idea. Letting the thinig live though could prove useful in time though. but it was still a fullbringer...dear god. She dug her hand into the side of the tree trunk, unintentionally tearing a chunk away from it which caused a few more wood chips to fly. Her hand trembled but she forced it open, letting the chunk fall back to the grass.

Eva only faintly gasped as her chin was so tightly grabbed, not budging an inch, even as the finger blades sank into her flesh. She gently bled onto Vlasta's hand, her blood being thinner than a human's would be, running between Vlasta's fingers only slightly slower than water. She was scared, giving Vlasta a visible twitch, but not leaving her Mistress's hand. She would not remove Vlasta's immediately ability to harm her, even as she was tossed aside. She fell, only to quickly gather herself and walk back over to Vlasta. She listened to her Mistress's ranting and instantly felt bad. She was right in her original assumption that it would upset Vlasta to hear her pet had a good time and she didn't.

Deciding something had to be done, she gently grabbed Vlasta's hand and placed it upon her forehead, somewhat timidly. "Vlasta... Want hurt Eva? Eva... Wrong?" After she was certain that Vlasta's hand would stay upon her head without power from the woman herself, she removed her own hands and stood there, not moving. She had upset the Queen, and that deserved punishment, the likes of which Eva would not deprive Vlasta of her ability to do. It wasn't her place to tell the wrathful Queen who she should or shouldn't punish, and for what. Her place was to be there for Vlasta, and to take everything Vlasta did with a smile. She eventually did this as well, her eyes looking up to Vlasta with a small smile, still worried about her despite the pain Vlasta had caused her.

The queen eyes her pet closely as the girl took hold of her hand, placing it upon her head and holding it there until she was sure Vlasta would not let it fall.Then she heard Eva's explanation for the curious action. However much too sadly Vasta too the action in much the wrong way. In a flash Vlasta had Eva's green hair tightly fisted in between her fingers. She knew her claws would once again dig into the girl's flesh and cause more bleeding, but what did she care though. "I will decide when punishments are needed, E-v-a..." she separated the letters of the girl's name out as she spoke them, speaking through her teeth. "You don't think I'm effective anymore? I assure you I can more than hand out a judgement when I see it is fit" She stood up to her full height, keeping her arm extended and lifting Eva up off the ground with little effort. "Have I not always proven myself, E-v-a? You've seen what have become of others. You should know best" She tightened her grip upon Eva's head to the point that it was a miracle it was not crushed beneath her hold. Just as quickly as she applied more pressure, she then completely released it, allowing the girl to fall back down to the ground. Though if Vlasta had her way she wouldn't make it there just yet. She raised her leg, aiming a harsh kick to the Eva's stomach to knock her back to the trees. Vlasta doubted there would be much fighting from the girl. There never was.

When Eva finally did meet the ground again she would be the target of Wrath's deadly glare. "That should be enough. You're lucky you're one of my most trusted Eva. If not for that you'd be dead" she warned, her eyes saying that one more strike and that would be the fate she'd meet. One she'd meet a thousand times over. The blonde took her seat again, rubbing her temples. She hated to admit it but injuring something more than just a deer, a someone, was relieving her stress to some degree. Her hands stopped their endless shaking and she could actually focus once again. "It might not have been fun as you have had but I got progress today" she changed the subject entirely, not really thinking Eva would care all that much. "Everything is coming together so we can end them" she glanced Eva's way, her blue eyes not nearly as hateful this time. "You'll need to heal up. Can't have you being useless to me.." What she didn't say nor would she admit to was the fact that it was Vlasta's own fault for any injury laid upon the girl. She had asked for it right? Quite literally really.

Unlike her normal demeanor, Eva actually released a noise of pain in the form of a soft gasp and a whimper, Vlasta catching her sensitive antennae with her hair. Nonetheless, even as the began to tear up, Eva made no attempt to escape or resist. In truth, Eva knew she'd take it the wrong way, and knew it would end up causing her more pain, but she wanted that. Not because she was a masochist or something, but because Vlasta was right. She did know... Much more than maybe even Vlasta thought. She knew that causing pain to a sentient being would please her more than killing a feral creature. Eva wasn't stupid. However, if there was something that Eva was, it was resilient. She was able to take a bit of damage, more than most would think.

She let out a surprised gasp as she was dropped, only to make a choked noise as she was kicked and landed against the tree bodily. Again, from such a blow where it took minimal effort on Vlasta's part, Eva could have easily caught herself against the tree, or even blocked the blow. However, not wishing to deprive any entertainment from the wrathful Queen, she took it in stride. Her chitinous parts would have to take much more damage than that to crack, anyways. As she laid on the ground, she timidly looks up to Vlasta, muttering a soft "Thank you..." to the Queen. She wouldn't dare take credit for helping her feel better by saying you're welcome, so instead, she was thanking her for the privilege of being able to make Vlasta's stress somewhat go away. Vlasta may not admit it, but the studious eyes of Eva barely ever missed a beat, and she knew Vlasta's body language better than anyone. She could tell that she was already feeling better to some degree.

At her Mistress's last words, she immediately got up, despite her aches and lacerations on her head and chin. She was in a bit of pain, but she'd muscle through. That is to say, until she attempted to walk forward, immediately stumbling and shaking. It seemed the blow to the tree had broken one of her chitinous legs. They were thin, so it really wasn't out there for such a thing to happen, but this might have been a bad time for it. Now... Now, she was actually scared. She gave Vlasta a timid look, one that a minion would give their boss after they were rendered useless, and attempted to walk again. She could walk, but she'd be incredibly slow for a while. So she stood there, wordlessly staring at Vlasta with quivering eyes.

Vlasta watched the girl slam into the tree, hearing a small crack that was too obvious. Something had most definitely broken. And it only made her head ache a bit less. She had been waiting for a sound like that. It was a sign that she had inflicted some rather painful, more permanent damage to the object of her wrath. It seemed she was completely calmed now. Her shoulders were relaxed, not shrugged up and tense. Her cheeks weren't nearly as red with the flush of rage she had been assaulted with. Even her eyes had lost their glare. At least for a moment they had.

As she was watching Eva she noticed the girl only take one step before she dared try again. so that's what she had broken? She looked down to her thin leg, able to tell no weight was being put down upon it anymore. It was indeed what had snapped under her strength. However Vlasta wouldn't accept this. She looked back up to the girl's bloodied face, arching her brow. "Eva..." her voice was a warning, dark and no more than above a growl. It was true Eva was one of her pets who she favored but being useless was the same as rebelling in her eyes. She had seen warriors fight with their arms deemed useless and their legs stabbed through dozens of times. Their eyes were drenched in blood making sight impossible and where ever they ran a trial of blood followed in the air behind them and they would fight on to their deaths. And yet here Eva was with a few scratches and a broken leg and refusing to take another step. It was the same as saying her queen was not worth the little effort she had to overcome. It made Vlasta sick.

"Come, Eva, quickly" it was clear she didn't need anything. She just wanted to make sure the girl knew what was expected of her at this point. And if she wasn't...well the look upon the sin's face was unamused and her lips were quivering and ready to snarl. that made it clear what might have been awaiting the insect girl. However Vlasta had a feeling that she would not need to go to such lengths. Eva always did as was told of her, no matter the circumstances.

Eva was on her wits strongly, wanting to find a solution to her current predicament. One of her four legs was clearly out of commission. She would have to get home and fix it before she was going to be useful in a battle again. However, as soon as Vlasta said her name, she shivered, thinking quickly. There had to be a way to temporarily fix it, just so she could follow Vlasta until the wrathful Queen sent her away. Then an idea came to her head. It would do a lot more immediate damage, and it would take longer to heal, but she might be able to be quicker than if she did nothing.

Eva drew a small thread from her mouth, slinging it to the side and almost lassoing a stick with it. She then did the same with a nicely-sized rock, and lined the stick along her broken leg, using the silk to tie it tightly. Lastly, she squinted her eyes shut, gritted her teeth together tightly, and began beating her leg back into place temporarily with the rock. She cried out, not even causing herself more pain on Vlasta's whim. She just wanted to be useful to her, in some way, shape or form. After roughly seven good hits with the rock and cries of pain, her leg snapped back into place, Eva ignoring the intense, flaming pain to tie it tighter, locking it in it's current position. After it was tied, she panted and shakily walked to Vlasta's side. Her walking was incredibly awkward, but much quicker than with a untouched broken leg. Eva, of course, didn't speak, as all she could manage was gasps and whimpers of pain, streams of tears painting the bug girl's cheeks.

The woman watched as her pet tended to her leg with eyes showing her curiosity. What was the little girl going to do? The sick crack of bone echoed in her head, bringing a dark satisfaction to her. The odd showcase of a smile was beginning to show on her red lips. Vlasta didn't know how many times Eva brought that rock down on her leg, only causing more damage. All she knew was that when she stood again it was in a slightly more natural state even though more damage had been done. Eva was walking, just as the sin had commanded. As some form of reward Vlasta kept up her smile, however much effort it took for the foreign expression.

"Very good Eva. I knew you wouldn't become such a disgrace." she praised, an strange action for the queen. "That leg will be as good as new in no time" Her words went from soft to hard once again. She wasn't being reassuring. Vlasta was telling her this. Even if the girl was walking it was evident it took great effort and hindered Eva. If the gasps hadn't given it away, the awkward walk would have. She needed Eva at her full use.

"Now that that's taken care of" Vlasta stood, adjusting the fur around her neck to pull it up around her shoulders more. "I think its high time I go and see how things are going with that man. He must have gotten something done" She crossed her arms over her chest as she began to walk "Even he can't be that useless..." the woman muttered to herself, a dark look sweeping over her face and that vein was starting to show again. If he was then there would be hell to pay...in every sense of the word.

"Eva" She stopped her steps for a moment, looking back over her shoulder with a look that would kill. "You shouldn't travel too far. I may need you and if you run off what good will you be..?" Vlasta waved her hand as she spoke, giving her a sign that she was free to go, which would likely be rather difficult no matter where she was headed. With that she resumed her walk, her skirt swaying softly behind her with each long step. ""Good night, Eva" it wasn't a kind good night but what else could her green haired pet expect? Soon enough she disappeared into the darkness of the woods, leaving the girl behind without the slightest offer of help.

Eva cried gentle tears, not speaking a word to Vlasta as she spoke to her pet. Of course, she was not crying for her pain anymore. Ever Vlasta might have noticed that Eva was crying because she was happy at that moment. How could the girl have been feeling happy enough to cry, happy enough to dwarf her pain from her shattered leg? Simple. Vlasta was Eva's surrogate mother. This was the reason she did everything unthinkingly when she was ordered. This was why she faithfully followed the brutal Queen, no matter how she was treated. The fact that she was even given the attention made it worth the pain, the broken limbs, the loss of blood. Nothing Vlasta could do to her would cause the girl to leave her side or falter in her faith of Vlasta. That's because Vlasta was the mother that Eva never had and desperately wanted. Where her biological mother paid no attention, Vlasta relentlessly tortured the girl with scathing words and the occasional bodily harm, but still... She was more of a mother than she had ever had.

Eva watched Vlasta leave, and hung on every of her last words to her. The bug girl laid on the ground when she was out of Vlasta's sight, whimpering softly. Still, even as the woman offered no help to Eva, she didn't care. The only way she would have excepted help was if Vlasta demanded so, and she would never. Eva, laid there for a good while, murmuring a quiet, "Good night... Mama..." as she laid upon the ground. She wouldn't be far from Vlasta's side... Certainly not anytime soon. First, she needed to fix her leg. She got up gingerly and began to limp away, walking in a shaky but straight line.
