Personality:
Kyojin is a worriless and free-spirited person. He prefers not to stress things too much and take things slow and steady. No matter how desperate/grave the situation/job he never worries or makes a fuss, instead he thinks calmly and tries to act rationally. He will take responsibility for his actions and he will do whatever task he must… just in his own way.

He is free-spirited in the sense that he likes to act as he pleases, not fond of taking orders and commands. Pressuring him to do things won’t make him act or work any differently, just leaving him be is the only way most can work with him. He speaks his mind in any situation no matter who he is confronted with or what position he is in. Everyone is respected as an equal, unless they have earned his utmost respect by his rules (honor, honesty, kindness).

Kind, friendly, caring, happy and positive are all words that are often used to describe him. Not once is he ever seen unhappy or sad, always seeing the bright side of things and fighting on, making him strong-willed as well. He looks out for those who need help and fights for those who can’t, even if he must stand against the Gotei 13. Children quickly take a liking to him, because he gives off a sort of fatherly feel and in turn giving not only children a feeling of security and safety. He isn’t a pacifist or is against fighting, but he prefers a peaceful solution to any problem.

He doesn’t like to see someone sad and always tries his best to cheer them up, even if it means turning himself into the villain; as long as it eases the pain of the other.
Honor, honesty and kindness are his greatest values. Those who excel in at least two of the three earn his respect as more than an equal.

But this jolly and good side of his personality there is a vile and bloodthirsty side. When he is in a fight and adrenaline starts rushing through his body his mind goes through a major metamorphosis. Insanity ravages his sanity and his movements start becoming unpredictable and irrational; he takes risks that no sane man ever would and offense is the only aspect in his fighting style. This part of him is sadistic, murderous and vile with no moral bounds except the primary goal he has set for the fight.

What remains unknown to Kyojin is that this is his true personality, repressed by himself and certain individuals he had come to know; a secret that he subconsciously realizes. His boundaries for killing are children and innocent by-standers. Once the adrenaline level sinks, he reverts back to “normal”
How did this come to be? It is an automatic defense mechanism for his mind to ensure that Kyojin doesn’t fall into complete psychosis; separating the sanity and insanity for different situations.

Kyojin pities hollows and their kind. To him they are lost souls in need of guidance back to innocence. The greater hollows (Arancar, Espada) are the ones who suffer the most in his opinion. While hollows are overcome by their sorrows and regrets and have no real conscience (in his opinion), the more powerful ones posess a more intellectual mind and can decide for themselves. Being a Visored, he somehow sympathizes with the monsters.

“Hollows did not choose to be what they are, they simply lost their way and cannot find their way back. The more they pull of their masks of hatred, the more hope I have for them to make a rational decision.”

Overall Kyojin is normally a kind, caring, fatherly figure who acts as he thinks is best, treats all equally and always speaks his mind. He has an unstable character that turns 180° once the adrenaline rushes.

Likes are: pizza, dogs, pasta, pencil sketching, happy atmospheres, reading, (PC-) gaming and taking long walks on a clear day.

Dislikes: sadness, death, cats, vegetables and people who are extremely annoying.

Physical Appearance:
He has brown, messy parted hair with long strips flowing to the right side. Having a slender and weak-looking body makes him seem normal (but being 1.82 meters tall lifts that feeling a bit), though he packs a lot more muscle than most could ever suspect.
The usual attire consists of a blue colored two-part uniform, brown leather shoes and gloves and a leather brown belt where he keeps is Zanpakutou.

Bio:
Kyojin was born on September 19th into a family of Yakuza. His early childhood involved twisting his young mind to such a degree, that he would obey the laws of the Yakuza and do their murderous bidding. At the age of twelve he had killed his first victim and by the time he reached the age of 15 years he had killed 325 people, tortured 658 individuals and had left countless families in sorrow, despair and mourning. The family thought that they had created a soldier capable of anything without breaking under any strain… until that one November night.

Kyojin had turned 16 just a month ago and was currently on a mission to execute a monk who opposed the family. The signature of his murders was the usage of a Katana; for some unknown reason, he felt a great attachment to this weapon and never left to go anywhere without it. The night was dark and the skies were covered. Not one light emanated from anywhere except the main shrine where the monk was located. As the killer boy snuck up to the door a faint thump was to be heard from the distance immediately followed by the sound of clashing swords. Intrigued by the noises, he decided to shortly deviate from his mission and take a look at the commotion. What he saw then changed his life:

A man wearing a Shihakusho was fighting a massive beast at least five or six times his size using a seemingly ordinary Katana. The monster resembled a giant insect of some sort, a mixed hybrid between a cockroach and a grasshopper wearing some sort of mask. The fighting was intense and the warrior was injured quite badly when more people in Shihakushos came to the man’s aid. Together, the group shredded the beast, making it disappear into seemingly nothing. All Kyojin could do was stand where he was in amazement… he had seen many people in that uniform before, but dismissed it as a delusion and his whole reality as shattered. What he had believed to be mere hallucinations all this time turned out to be real; no one but him could see what he saw and he began to question why that was. He knew it was all real because no hallucination could have been that vivid and realistic, yet seem like some sort of dream.

“Do you want to know what they are and what they are doing here?” a voice asked from behind “I can tell you and you may decide on your own to take my life afterwards if you wish.”

Kyojin looked at the old man standing behind him: it was the monk he was supposed to assassinate. Still awed by the scene of fighting, he nodded and together with the monk they went into the shrine. Once inside he was told a grand tale, a tale of Shinigami and hollows; a tale of a long, long conflict. The next morning Kyojin started to see the world in a new light. No longer was it his killing grounds, but it was a warzone where a small group tried to protect humanity from great monsters, spawned out of despair.

Two years passed and Kyojin had severed ties with his Yakuza family. His personality changed for the better, though remnants of the old him still remain sealed within. He had established contact with a select group of Shinigami called Visored and learned many things about the “supernatural” from them. Wondering why he was accepted by these people so quickly he began to look into his family’s history and the events surrounding his birth. And to his astonishment, with some help from the Visored, he discovered that his family descended from a long line of defective Shinigami. Training nearly every day he tried to bring out his latent abilities… with success. The more he trained the more his Zanpakuto came to accept him, but at the same time he felt something grow inside of him; something evil… his inner hollow.

The first hollowfication occurred when he was fighting another more powerful hollow, when he was pushed to the verge of death. Soon after he realized why the Visored took him in so quickly: he was one of them and they had sensed this long ago. As a result he trained in the ways of the Visored for more than a year and he improved exponentially.

Zanpakutō

Name: Seishinbyo
Zanpakutō spirit:
Seishinbyo means psychosis. This name is very befitting this Zanpakuto’s personality. It is deranged, bloodthirsty and irrational, yet still somehow possesses sanity. It is much like Kyojin’s true personality, only it has no regard for anyone else; it simply kills for joy and thrill. In his book, all game is fair, only those who are willing to risk can survive and the more one risks the greater the gain. Anytime he can, he tries to convince his master to fight by transmitting a feeling of blood-thirstiness, but Kyojin stays strong and calm… otherwise his true personality would take over and together with Seishinbyo the two would wreak havoc. Not an ordinairy Zanpakuto….

Seishinbyo appears as a slender teen-age boy (about 1.75 meters tall) in a strait-jacket with white trousers and a pair of white sneakers. His hair is black, long and messy and he always has a deranged, happy look on his face.

Sealed form:
Even its sealed form has an abnormal appearance. Instead of havin a one-sided curved blade it has a one-sided straight blade; its guard is more of a sideways drum; the entire thing has a more technological design to it.

Shikai

Shikai description:
No visible changes are made in the Shikai-form of Seishinbyo, though it vibrates at such a high frequency that the human eye cannot see. Upon activation it distrots for a split-second and gives off a high pitched ringing noise that causes severe headaches and ear trauma when heard.

Call out phrase: Shōki o musabori, Seishinbyo! (Devour sanity, Psychosis!)

Ability:
Resembling its irrational character, it vibrates erratically at an incredible speed constantly, the frequency of which remains invisible to the human eye. Its power on the other hand is resonance; this operates on the principle that all particles (including spiritual particles) vibrate at a certain frequency and when this frequency is matched the particles stop all movement and fall apart (elimination). Whenever the blade touches anything it matches its frequency and forces it to fall apart. This can be applied to anything from normal object to other Zanpakuto and all the way to even Kido. In this state, the blade is no longer of any substantial use. Resonance is only a subcategory however. Its true ability lies in causing and transmitting vibrations (because the blade vibrates it possesses greater cutting strength). Another part of its ability is that this ability of resonance can be transferred to the Shinigami and act as an extra defensive at the cost of some Reiatsu. Seishinbyo’s Shikai-form is an offensive shikai that will make even the toughest of defenses crumble. The condition for resonance is that it is able to adjust quickly to minor frequency changes, but larger ones take time. The blade must have been in contact with the other for at least 5 seconds to resonate with it.
A large drawback to this ability is that it is not really capable of long range combat and requires Kyojin to always be on the offensive/defensive for it to be very effective; so no dodging, only parrying would be optimal.

Techniques:
Kyoshin-tai (Resonance Body): This is a defensive technique that makes Kyojin’s body take on the abilities of Seishinbyo (resonance). In this state his bodytakes on the resonant frequency of whatever attack him, thereby nullfying it. The greates drawback is that this consumes a large amount of reiatsu and a long time is needed until it can be used again (4 posts).

Shindō burasuto (Vibration Blast): Seishinby releases a pressure wave by causing vibrations in the air when swung. This wave releases a high pitched ringing sound as it travels; this sound can cause temporary deafness if standing within 3 meters of the wave.

Bankai

Bankai name: Kokyu Seishinbyo

Bankai description: Again, like in its shikai, Seishinbyo does not change form. When this is activated the Zanpakuto releases a mass of sound waves that resonate with anything it comes in contact with within a 5 meter radius, causing anything inside to fall apart.

Ability:
In addition to its shikai-ability to vibrate and resonate, Seishinbyo can now release sound waves that resonate with all that they touch, enabling long range combat. The time necessary to achieve resonance with an object is halved (2.5 seconds) and the blade vibrates at an even greater speed, allowing it to cut through tougher defenses without using resonance. Vibrations can be controlled even better now and so it becomes possible to use vibrations in the air to cut a target from a distance.

Techniques:
Kyōmei sutorīmu (Resonance Stream): Seihinbyo is pointed in any direction and constantly fires off a stream of soundwaves that give off a high pitched ring. These sound waves are set to resonate with heavy structures and spiritual particles, but when aimed at something living they will resonate with that life form, slowly adjusting its frequency until it causes the body to fall apart (inside and/or outside). The drawback to this technique is that Seishinbyo will not be able to resonate with anything else for a short time (4 posts); however it still vibrates and thus possesses increased cutting strength. It only resonates with what it manags to hit.

Kyomei-ha (Resonance Slash): Kyojin adjusts the blades frequency to whatever he wishes to destroy (the condition being that he must come in contact with it once to know the frequency) and realeases a resonant soundwave in the direction of the slash.

Inner Hollow

Name of inner hollow: Satsujin
Personality: Satsujin again is like a reflection of Kyoshin’s true personality only minus ANY form of boundaries when it comes to killing. It likes to kill and torment for pleasure, but he isn’t insane. He acts rationally unlike Kyoshin in his insanity-state and is unwilling to risk itself for anything unless the outcome is set. He is, in a sense, a fun-loving person and joker – never taking things very seriously.

Appearance:
Satsushin appears as a jester with the typical attire colored in white and red. He always holds a bone staff with a skull on top.

Hollow mask:
The hollow mask closely resembles one of those “laughing-masks”. It has two crescent shapes of which the tips point down for eye holes and a large crescent shaped smile for the mouth. Two red stripes flow down vertically through the center of the eye holes.

Role-play sample:
Warm sunshine, blue skies and sounds of cheer to be heard all around Tokyo, a perfect day for a long stroll in the busy city. Kyojin was taking his usual route through the streets of the metropolis, looking at the people passing bye and peeking into the occasional shop. He never really intends to buy anything, but he just likes to look at what the shops have to offer; if anything interesting may arise he puts a reservation on the item.

Part of his route passed along a grade school where he stopped by regularly to play with the children and sometimes even helps out the faculty. Today was Saturday so nobody should be there… but what was that? A group of small children were waiting in front of the school gate, eagerly awaiting something.
“Why hello there! What are you lot waiting here for in front of THE SCHOOL on a SATURDAY?” he asked the small children emphasizing the words “the school” and “Saturday”.
“Kisho-sama!” squealed the children all at once and rushed towards him, arms wide and full of excitement.
“We were waiting for you!” said one of the boys “We thought you would go on a walk today and wanted to ask you something…”
“Hmmm? What might that be?” he raised an eyebrow, wondering what the children might want to know.
“Aiko-chan said that she saw you fighting some huge monster! Is that true?!” another boy asked full of excitement.
Kyojin was stunned; he didn’t know one of the small children had the ability to see Shinigami or Hollows and was left speechless for a minute.
“Kisho-sama?”
“Ah, yes, yes! I mean… no. Sorry, but I wasn’t fighting any monster or anything like that” he replied to the question, laughing with a fake smile.
“But I’m not saying Aiko-chan is lying. I think she saw someone else, a close friend of mine. He is a superhero you know? How about this: if you can find him bring him to me and I’ll treat you all to some ice cream ok?” The kids lit up with a smile and ran off full of energy as Kyojin sent them on a fruitless hunt. After all, nothing could happen on such a nice day…. And now it’s jinxed.

Continuing with his stroll he noticed something in an ally way and decided to investigate it. If it was a mugging, he would stop it with his fighting skills as a Visard. But it was something else entirely and as he walked down the narrow ally he felt something watching him. Suddenly a Hollow jumped out from behind him, just above his head making him duck for cover. The Hollow was rather small and looked more like a hound, its mask resembling a dog’s head. Carefully Kyoshin edged backwards but stopped, remembering that there were innocent people out there; the only choice he had was to kill it there and then. With no time to consider the consequences of fighting, he took on his Shinigami form and drew his sword charging at the Hollow as he did so. In one fell swipe, the creature was cut in half and luckily as well, this fight wasn’t enough to call out his darker side. He returned to his body and started walking back towards the main street, glancing back only one and murmuring “May your soul rest in peace…”

The rest of the stroll was rather eventless. Other than meeting a few friends from school nothing worth mentioning came up. No Hollows (with one small, weak exception) and no disasters… an almost perfect day. All that was left to do now was to order some good pizza, read and play some video games a bit to round of his day.
