Personality: Kira is a generally calm person, with a hard work ethic that is at times frightening. While he is warm as person toward others, he is generally condescending and looks down on those who do not value efficiency as much as he does. Kira is dead set on the enforcement of justice, but coupled with his drive for efficiency and shaky moral base, he will occasionally resort to methods that one would consider vile and underhanded.

However, due to the tampering of his odd zanpakutou, Kira is susceptible to fits of insanity(accompanied with sadism from his inner hollow), which his close friends have grown to live with; however, newer acquaintances are not nearly as understanding. These bouts have been narrowed to only being triggered in high stress situations.

When in battle, Kira is in constant calculation, and often prefers rapid tactics as opposed to maintaining lengthy battles. However, if a fit is induced during battle, his style becomes far more pain infliction oriented and he often tries to instead lengthen the suffering of an opponent.

Physical Appearance:
Kira Takahashi is a Japanese male. He has an oval shaped face, onyx/brown eyes, a defined nose, and chiseled facial structure. He is of average-tall height, with a very streamlined and slim frame. Small hints of the agile muscle below can be seen, and his body shows some of the scars of his early training.He has long, thick black hair that reaches shoulder length.

Kira uses a short sleeved shihakusho, while tying off his pants at the shin with bandages to maximise movement. He uses a pair of arm guards while he keeps his zanpakutou kept strapped to his waist.
When within the human world, he is generally seen wearing a black jacket, with a light blue t-shirt, and a set of dark blue jeans.

Bio:
Kira Takahashi was born into a middle class family within Japan, and had a rather lively childhood within his family of four; his father, mother, older brother and himself. Generally a happy child, Kira was extremely curious and developed a healthy hard work attitude to gain what he wanted from his parents as well as gaining a love of practical experimentation. However, his life came to a quick ending at twelve, at the hands of a car during a picnic with his family, when his brother had accidentally kicked a ball into the road.

Luckily, there was a regular patrol of shinigami within the area, and Kira was already though with his soul burial within four hours. However, they are four hours that Kira hopes to never experience again; as a twelve year old, he was thoroughly terrified. Having being transported to the third best section of the Rukongai, Kira was soon taken into a home for younger souls that was in the region. He grew to love his caretaker like a second mother, and he soon began to accept his own death as his years continued. However, something had always separated him from his pseudo-brothers and sisters - his appetite. After thorough research, his caretaker found that it was because of the fact that he held reiatsu.

As the years passed, Kira began to mature with his pseudo-siblings, and soon he was starting to perform tricks with his reiatsu for their entertainment. One day, the home went out for a field trip near one of the many forests within the Rukongai. Using the surrounding area as a place for rest, the group decided to have lunch, and Kira decided on an impulse to showcase his latest reiatsu trick to the rest of his peers; a small reiatsu orb that he could toss onto the ground to make a small explosion. While his pseudo-family enjoyed the trick, someone else also seemed to have taken notice of the scent it made; a wide-grinned hollow had stalked out of the foliage, and decided to feast on the members of the home.

Kira had attempted to attack it with his new trick, but it proved far too ineffective against such an opponent and he was soon pushed aside by his caretaker to protect him. Within the panic, the beast devoured the remaining youth, while Kira slipped into a bush to hide, exhausted from his previous trick. Witnessing the slaughter was a traumatising experience for the young boy. After the hollow was done, it left, appetite fulfilled, forgetting about Kira after it could not pick up his diminished reiatsu signature.

Kira trekked back to his district after an hour, a journey which took until nightfall. by the time he had arrived, he passed out near the entrance. At some point, Kira decided to toss the impulsive persona he had carried with him all this time; it had caused both his original death and that of the closest thing to family he had. Soon after his recovery, Kira registered in the Shinigami Academy.

During his time at the academy, he became known to be an overachiever due to his hard work ethic amd Kira began to soar through the academy; however, his weakness always lay in Hakudo, which always prevented him from being recognised as a top all-rounder. Kira began to develop his more serious persona as an academy student. However, this was also when he met his zanpakuto for the first time. It's personality reminded him of the very thing he had tried to rid himself of as a student, so their relationship did have a rocky start.

However, their relationship eventually warmed, and soon Kira graduated from the Academy, and started his career within the 6th squad due to his efficiency oriented style. He began to progress in both rank and his relationship with his zanpakutou, despite his fits of insanity, and after years of strenuous training, Kira finally reached a state of Bankai. However, things soon began to go downhill after he was assigned to track an odd hollow that seemed to be growing to be a threat. After briefing, he was dispatched as squad leader with a team of nine and they soon found the hollow.

However, once found, the hollow was in fact found to be an Adjuchas class menos; one with a distinctly familiar grin across its face. Engaging in battle with it, things soon took a turn for the worst for the shinigami as the hollow tore through their ranks, consuming each member along the way. As it consumed Kira's last squad member, the beast began to glow furiously, and its grin began to widen, as it stood stock still. KIra had never witnessed the transformation of a hollow, and therefore did not know the danger he was in. Charging the hollow, Kira did not notice the fact that the beast had already turned to pure reiatsu and was reconstructing itself as a Vasto. Kira stabbed into the energy, which caused an odd reaction: the inteference caused a forced regression of the beast, and due to Kira's lack of reiatsu at the time, he had been subconsciously pulling miniscule amounts of reiatsu from the environment. This suction then led Kira to sucking in the hollow's own reiatsu, and causing a merge to occur between the two, therefore birthing his Vizard self.

Passing out during the process of the merge, Kira was drawn into his inner world and forced to battle the hollow that had just inhabited his body. However, he was at a disadvantage; his zanpakutou was unwilling to help due to a feeling that Kira was weak if he could not keep such a beast from invading him. The battle lasted for hours, and finally triumphed, although barely. However, he did not awake until a patrol found his abused body and took him to the fourth squad, a white toothy mask formed on his face..

After the incident, Kira managed to negotiate for his stay in Soul Society, which was significantly difficult due to the fact that his hollow was considered a constant threat, as well as the fact that his hollow had manged to make his insane fits more sadist oriented. However, after an agreement for strict surveillance, as well as a counselling course, Kira managed to retain his position within the sixth squad. Many peoples' attitudes changed towards him, many being negative, while others instead accepted him. These few grew to become Kira's closer friends: Karin, Aiko and Noboru.

Relations remained somewhat chilled between Kira and his zanpakutou, but yet another mission would prove monumental; the first full hollowfication. During a battle with several arrancar within the outskirts of a town, Kira and his friends began to get hard pressed, and soon Aiko was circled, and trying desperately to fight off the incoming attacks. The stress set off a fit severe enough to force Kira's persona back, and allow that of the hollow to appear in full force, which forced a transformation to occur. Kira was sent into his inner for yet another battle with his hollow, but now driven by a need to save his friends, he decisively beat his hollow, and by extension managed to gain control over it, as well as regain his zanpakutou's respect.

However, Kira's joy soon was lost, when he found that in his attack, he had killed Aiko in the process of defeating the many arrancar. His friends, despite their love of him, started to distrust him, and began a rift soon formed. After Aiko's funeral, Kira began to work strenuously on his mask control to prevent such an incident from occurring again. After years, Kira finally reconciled with his friends, and with a good portion of his turmoil resolved, Kira finally moved back into his more comfortable rhythm of being a shinigami. While not problem free, Kira has coped, and he still treks down his path of justice...

Inner world appearance:
Kira's inner world is a massive throne room layed out within an even larger theatre. The audience's seats are filled out as Kira has more encounters with different people; each of them are at first transparent, but fill out as Kira gets to know them better. The stage takes up an indefinite amount of space, and has shown the ability to expand if required.

Zanpakutō


Name: Ten no Shikikan

Zanpakutō spirit: Ten no Shikikan takes the form of a pair of angels, one male and one female. They are both linked together with a chain attached to the back of their wings, and while they have separate personalities, they are referred to with the same names, which usually causes confusion when Kira tries to communicate with them. The female possesses majestic gold lined gowns and pearly white wings, as well as the appearance of a young brunette within her early twenties. The male however possesses silver battle armour and obsidian wings, while he appears to be a man within his mid thirties. While engaging in constant argument, they have the exact same personality, and accentuate the passionate impulse that Kira lost after his death. This manifests itself as their personality and the two often try to drive the lost trait back into Kira, which has caused his bouts of insanity.

Sealed form: A seemingly standard daito with a grey hilt. The guard has four feathered wings carved into it. and its sheath is made out of an ebony black wood.


Shikai


Call out phrase: Unfurl your wings and may you answer Heaven's call.

Shikai description: The daito glows, before splitting into two separate swords. The blades then keep the original hilt, but part of the blade morphs over Kira's fingers, much like the knuckle guards of a trench knife while the rest of it shrinks to the size of a wakizashi of approximately 60 cm, with the broadness twice that of a katana. One of the blades becomes black with a silver edge, while the other does the inverse, and a chain extended from the bottom of the hilt connects the two blades together.

Ability: Wind Manipulation

Techniques: Channeling of the Tempest - A crimson stained wind aura covers the blade with a constant drain on Kira's reiatsu for as long as the technique is sustained, while providing a sharper edge for Kira's weapon. Is automatically active on first release, but requires one turn to cool down after its loss and one turn to activate otherwise.

Wrath of the Tempest - Requires "Channeling of the Tempest" to be active. The wind aura is concentrated at the edge of the blade, before being launched at an opponent. The power of the attack can slice clean through concrete, while doing considerable damage to steel. Once used, it deactivates "Channeling of the Tempest".

Grasp of the Tempest - The chain holding the twin blades together can expand and contract between 0.75m and 3m. Requires a small amount of reiatsu to cause the reaction.

Dance of the Tempest - An extension of "Channeling of the Tempest". The Dance of the Tempest increases the area of effect of the Channeling to a five metre radius around Kira, allowing for for free form manipulation of the wind blade generated by the Channeling, as long as it is within the area of effect.


Bankai


Bankai name: Tengoku no Koutei

Bankai description: Kira extends his arms forwards, before yelling Bankai, and being engulfed in a massive reiatsu sphere. The sphere then dissapates, revealing Tengoku no Koutei. Kira retains the main hilt and knuckle guard of his Shikai, but the blades are then removed, but then Kira instead possesses a silver armour that covers his chest, accompanied by a similar armour that also covers his arms. Two metallic wings in the shape of discs sprout from his back, and approximately fifty shruiken sized black discs are attached to the rims of the wings. These discs can detach themselves, and hover around Kira, and are capable of creating three curved wind blades from their edge (but at least ten discs need to be in place in each wing for flight to be enabled).

Ability: Advanced wind manipulation

Techniques: Channeling of the Tempest - An advanced form of the Shikai version, when used with Tengoku no Koutei a wind blade is extended from the hilts of the twin blades that Kira wields. The same rules of Shikai apply.

Army of the Tempest - Kira coordinates the usage of the discs contained within Tengoku no Koutei's wings, allowing the usage of their own wind blades, and allowing Kira to use them in swarm tactics. While the power of each wind blade should be exactly the same(can only cut through concrete), Kira can divert more power to those he prioritises(can cut through steel). However, this task is a substantial drain on Kira, especially when making specific shapes with the discs. Discs are capable of utilising a weakened form of "Wrath of the Tempest", with each disc requiring one post of cool down before being able to use wind blades again. This technique requires at least one post to activate.

Dance of the Tempest - Advanced state of the original; range increases from 5m to 15m, and this technique can be extended through "Army of the Tempest"(each disc has a 5m range).

Ascension of the Tempest - Flight is enabled passively within the metallic wings on Kira's back, allowed as long as at least ten discs are kept within each wing.

Inner Hollow


Name of inner hollow: Isamu

Personality: A rather odd man, Isamu is often rather loud with a taste for a joke or two. However, his jolly nature hides the sadist within him, who often uses jokes to get under peoples' skin. He seems capable of average conversation, but his nature tends to bar it from occurring. He often clashes with Ten no Shikikan, and despite the fact that Kira has control over him, he is still able to instill his sadistic influence into Kira during his fits.

He wishes only to inflict pain, and feels that a takeover of Kira's body will allow him to do it far more easily.

Appearance: A tall, thin man with lengthy red hair that reaches his lower back. He has greem eyes, and a small amount of stubble visible due to its radiant colour. His slim face gives him a sly appearance, and a grin is often plastered on his face, and is only removed when he is in danger.
He is seen often in a white shirt, a black waistcoat and slacks and a crimson tie.

Hollow mask: Shaped like a smooth helmet, the features carved into Kira's mask resemble those of a theatre mask: it has a massive, jagged toothed grin with two eye holes shaped like two downward facing crescent moons. The eye holes seem like slits, often hiding Kira's yellow and black eyes from others.

What exactly does Dance of the Tempest do in correlation with Channeling of the Tempest?

Only one ability is allowed, you should make the flight a passive technique, especially since there is a condition for the flight.

I can't answer the question about length, however I can assure you that dictating character actions in an RP sample is perfectly alright; doing so during actual RP however is not.
