Pyro (Arrancar 42) Empty
PostSubject: Pyro (Arrancar 42)   Pyro (Arrancar 42) EmptySat Jan 12, 2013 11:21 am

Name: Unknown, except to those who witnessed his birth. And they swore secrecy, for reasons they refuse to divulge. Instead, he is simply known as ‘Pyro.’

Nickname: The Burning Abomination

Age:Unclear, but it’s likely somewhere between nine hundred and fifty to a thousand.

Gender: Indeterminate

Weapon(s):

Number: 42

Personality:It’s hard to truly describe Pyro – it never takes off its mask, and its sentences are incoherent, due to the fact that all that ever comes out of its mouth is a string of muffled noises. However, what it lacks in speech, it makes up for in body language, and overall physical representations of how it feels.

When not in combat, Pyro seems to be largely docile, even playful – to some extent. It seems to be more concerned with keeping trouble away from itself, and with having people not shun it, rather than consuming souls. However, When pushed, Pyro can – and will – bring down hellfire and fury upon those that scorn it. It also seems to be fiercely defensive of its rubber ducky – exactly why it is so attached to the object is something only it knows.

In battle, however, Pyro seems to adopt an entirely different personality. It moves about with some sort of insane, childlike glee, spreading chaos and destruction wherever it treads. The screams of its tortured victims and their attempts at pleading for mercy seem lost on it, with reactions including it cocking its head in some grim form of earnest, and spit roasting them while they were impaled on its blade. Some seem to think it doesn’t even know what it’s doing – reasoning that something makes Pyro change when in battle, as if rose tinted lenses are forced over its eyes.

Physical Appearance:It is unknown to most, what age Pyro perished at in life. From its form and comparative abilities, it was most likely a young adult at the time of death, or just a tall teenager. Either way, Pyro is built tall and with no exceptionally notable muscle tone present – though, there is enough to show it is strong enough to qualify as strong. Its skin is deathly pale, around the torso, but its limbs and face are a moderate tan. But something about it seems off – like it wasn’t gained through typical means.

In terms of clothing, Pyro does not dress like other Arrancar, though the colour scheme is the same. A snugly-fitting one piece, made of a material similar to rubber in appearance, is responsible for covering its body. The shade of white typically worn by Arrancar, it adheres to its form, though remains loose enough to allow unhindered movement. Even its hands and feet are enveloped by the suit, through which not a speck of skin can be seen. Upon its head is a black mask – more like a form-fitting rubber balaclava, however. And, even then, its mouth is obscured by a rectangle of opaque black mesh, through which breathing can be heard when all else is silent. Essentially, it is like a thick layer of skin, with heavily tinted lenses disallowing anyone from seeing its eyes.

The remnants of its mask are not overly-gaudy, but are more than most. It seems to be a cross between a skullcap, a sabre-tooth tiger’s signature teeth, and two bone-like rings. Its eyes – rather, the lenses – are surrounded by the two rings respectively, while the domed part is upon the top of its head, the two rings attaching to the front-bottom of it. The remaining parts seem to be like tears, frozen on Pyro’s face – from where tears should come from, the two-centimetre thick mask part protrudes instead.

Bio:

Obtaining documents detailing Pyro’s past is nigh-impossible at best. Why this is, is not quite understood yet. After all, many a person has had a worse past, one which should affect them more.

Pyro began life as an innocent enough person, going about his/her daily life without much trouble ensuing. Of course, those were during its younger years, when it went to school, learned about nature from its father, learned how to cook for itself from its mother, and in general, it didn’t leave a bad life at all.

However, one misconception at the bakery cost the town everything. The houses were old – thatched roofs, wooden walls only reinforced slightly, the works. Needless to say, the place went up like tinder. And, by sheer coincidence, guess who was a survivor of the ordeal, while his/her parents burnt to a slow, agonising death before them? Pyro.

And, as if this was not bad enough, the destruction that lay before it seemed to snap him/her. Something destroyed its sanity, turned the perfectly normal boy/girl into a raving lunatic. They chuckled amidst the blazing ruins. They laughed. They grew out of control. By the time help had arrived, he/she was already plastered with minor burns, but the pin seemed like something they couldn’t feel. Of course, they could – it just wasn’t showing.

In the padded room they were confined to, their personality seemed to shift between three states indefinitely. One, its neutral state – where it would just sit against the wall, or lie down, and would remain motionless for hours on end. There was their maddened state, where a warped chuckle was ever-present, and a sinister smirk accompanying it. The third seemed to be a state of delusion – quite what was being seen is unknown. But, judging by the toothy grin and elated expression, it was obviously a happy delusion.

The doctors couldn’t find what had caused him/her to die, and the burns only served as a contributing factor. That aside, they had been there for years. Why would they flare up now, so suddenly? Irrespective of this, with nobody left who wanted anything to do with it, the funeral was just a burial with some prayers.
They had the decency not to cremate the corpse.

As a Hollow, Pyro was just as mindless as every other one, but it didn’t get conceited with age. Pyro had been insane. Death actually seemed to have given it a little more self-control – maybe the reason it survived so long was because it embraced its madness, rather than giving in to it. It consumed Hollow souls, many over the years, mixing it in with human and the odd Soul Reaper that was caught off-guard.

An Espada of times gone by spotted Pyro’s talent, and instead of leaving it to fester, he took it back. After several years of being left to its own devices in the Forest of Menos, that same Espada returned, and seemed delighted at the results. Through mindless wit and personal experience, the – now somewhat stable – Pyro had evolved beyond a normal Hollow, and was eligible to be an Arrancar.

However, its transformation was… Not quite what you would call orthodox, even for such a process. Though the details were lost, it is known that, for some reason or other, its entire body and face had to be covered, its identity left a mystery to all. Not that it matters much – nobody wanted to talk to it anyway. It always gave off a bad air, the kind you’d cross the street to avoid.

Zanpakutō

Name:From what most people have said, it is most likely “Incinerador.” However, its muffled speech makes it hard to tell exactly.

Sealed form: A two-handed war axe. The handle, approximately its arm’s length, is a pole of a black, granite-like substance, with a vicious point at both ends. Thin streams of what appears to be flowing lava streak down the pole, giving it a volcanic look. The actual blade is not double-headed, but the just the one side is enough for its user. With similar lava veins flowing through it, the streaks are seen more clearly, as it is constituted of a substance that, while durable for a blade, looks highly similar to obsidian. Considering surgeons use this for scalpels, and Roman ssoldiers used them for their spears, it’s easy to guess that getting hit with it is something you don’t want to happen.

Resurrección: The white suit turns an eerie blood-red, while fire seems to – quite literally – burn beneath the lenses of its mask. Body temperature increases exponentially, though it does not do so at level that makes holding it impossible. Unless you’re made of ice cream. Wherever it steps while this state is active, the ground seems to be scorched, leaving tiny flames and embers in its wake.

Call out phrase:Estallar, Incinerador (Erupt, Incinerator)

Ability: Not control over fire, per sei, but a spirit-blue fire-like substance. Counted as fire. Harder to put out than normal fire, but still quite possible.

Techniques:
Dragon’s Breath: A continuous stream of fire, though not directly from its mouth. Using its hands, it forms a circle in front of its mouth, and the fire comes from there, with a rage of approximately two metres. Fans out as it gets further away, but gets weaker as a result of not being as concentrated.
Cremator’s Cannon: A large blast of fire, requiring a second or two to prepare. Similar to a Cero, except it exchanges power for potential afterburn damage. Fired from both hands at once.
Fire Cloak: A layer of fire is formed over the user’s body, inducing a burning sensation on unprotected entities. Does not block attacks. Requires a mild degree of concentration to keep up continuously.

Role-play sample:
“I fear no Hollow. But that… thing? It scares me.”
-Anonymous Shinigami

“One shudders to imagine what sickening thoughts lie behind that mask… What dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty?”
-Ex-Espada, Anonymous

There it was – the target of the mission. A camp of Shinigami, all of a moderately powerful level, and all very proficient when it came to slaying normal, run-of-the-mill Hollows. However, Pyro was not an ordinary Hollow. It was an Arrancar, and one of the less comprehensible ones at that. With its eyes burning under the mask – quite literally – and with its suit a disturbingly blood-like red, to see such a thing emerge from the shadows with the ground behind it burning must have been quite the sight to see.

The two on guard scrambled to their feet, desperate to dispatch this new threat, sensing an energy like no other. It was powerful, yes – but it was not this that frightened them. It was that it was neither good, evil, nor neutral. It was as if the abyss had spat out an ember, and this was the result. A demon bearing down upon them, its hands ready to form any shape necessary, its will to destroy so mind-warpingly innocent.

They had heard the rumours – that it was delusional in battle. As they reached for their weapons, this seemed to be backed up, as the muffled laugh that sounded when they drew their blades was not that of a condescending opponent, but of a gleeful child. It was as if they were offering to play with it, and Pyro was accepting the invitation with gusto. Almost immediately, it coated itself in flames, after shouting (what seemed to be) the appropriate words.

The first person it grabbed, it grabbed by the neck. And, due to the unarmoured nature of a Shinigami’s uniform, the effects were immediately felt. The burning, the excruciating burning, and on his neck as well – his screams of anguish were met with a delighted chuckle. Or should that be demented? Regardless, he was now burning with spirit-blue flames, and was rolling around like a man possessed to put himself out.

The next one attempted to use their Shikai, but got no such chance. Slowly, he was incinerated on the spot, his fumbling costing his life. The fire ‘breath’ was easily dodged by jumping backwards or to one side, but in his rush to get the better of Pyro, he was reduced to nothing but a pile of ashes. It was obvious that the rest of the camp would wake up – five more in total. A small number, but it was still greeted with a cry of muffled elation.

These Shinigami were not as slow as the one suffering and the one who had died. With no time to waste, they drove their swords at it, launched their kido at it, and just generally messed it up. But, though it became battered and bruised, Pyro had devised a plan. Feigning weakness, it lay down, at which point a cocky Shinigami leant over and inspected him. At which point, both of his hands gripped her face. Which, after he launched a fireball at point-blank range, no longer existed, as with the rest of her head.

Even though Pyro was powerful, it still took damage. It was not at an Espada’s level, so its ability to endure standard attacks was not at a level where it could shrug them off. If it guarded or parried successfully, then that was a different matter altogether. As it stood, though, the relentless barrage of attacks were taking their toll, and only so many could be nullified. It had to deal with its problems swiftly, lest it fall in the middle of nowhere.

One Shinigami thrust towards it, but he was careless. It was a sloppy attack, powered by the thought that the beast was just a hyped-up Arrancar of underdeveloped strength, and would prove to be his downfall. Pyro managed to gather itself for long enough to dodge the attack, and its breath of blue fire left the former Soul Reaper a desiccated, horrifically burnt pair of legs – his top half had been scorched clean off.

The remaining combatants looked towards this display, and stood there, gaping, twitching slightly in horror.
“Monster…” they whispered, petrified, “Monster…”
Pyro walked towards them, head cocked to the side slightly, as if it was wondering why they were acting as they did. Though stumbling at first, they managed to turn, and ran as fast as their feet could carry them. They screamed in terror, to which a muffled giggle sounded. Whether it knew what it was doing, or whether it was delusional, is debatable. The mask concealed everything about it – some were willing to bet that the mask was, in fact, its entire face.

Irrespective of this, the glow in the distance, as Pyro left, was likely not a rising sun.

All I really need to know is whether you intend to be a Fraccion or just a rogue; I can't tell from the bio or rp sample. Whichever you wish to be, list it by your number (inclusive of which Espada you want to be a Fraccion for) and I'll be able to get to grading the rp sample after

I'll have it as a rogue Arrancar. More due to the fact that nobody wants it serving them, as opposed to it choosing not to serve.

Fair enough. I can approve this for ADP-1 at 55 points, then; once those are applied and checked, I'll move this over to approved

Doctor is the member of the month. Ever since he joined, he's been extremely active, and really knows how to get things moving plot-wise. He was recently promoted to staff as well, and so far has shown great enthusiasm. He's also a friendly presence in the c-box, which is never a bad thing.

Gray is character of the month. Apparently one of the more popular characters on the site, well-known for his habit of stripping, which isn't good enough for Ulqui, but seems to do the job for his numerous IC fangirls. Has also earned (EARNED, not bought) numerous stat points in the past few months. Side note: Anyone who speaks of a gilf pairing will be shot on sight. :U
