Yamata no Orochi a legendary 8-tailed and 8-headed dragon from ancient Japanese mythology. (Thought to be a snake by Western civilizations due to the long, serpentine body.)

Susanoo, or Susa-no-O, was a Shinto Storm God who was expelled from Heaven for tricking his sister, the Sun-Goddess, or Amaterasu.

Kojiki, the original book this myth was recorded in, was made in 680 AD.

Great story, though, definitely worth the read.
